I devoured it!!!

I waited for this book hungrily for years and years, and when I at last got my hands on it I devoured it like a ravenous wolf till there wasn't a single letter left for my eyes to eat. Soo goood!!! Better than the first! Can't wait for the next one! (Oh, yes, there is a next one - I practically exploded with joy when I saw that, coming up next, is a book entitled The Siege of Dragonhome!) John Peel had better not take as long as he did to write The Siege as he did for The Slayers... I may starve before then...
This time, you get more than just the perspective of Melayne. John Peel switches from point of view to point of view, so we get to know many characters better than we did before. Once again, Melayne and her friends confront the many injustices extant in their world, in order to protect the dragons, the Talents, and the ordinary humans, and to leave the world a better place for their children (oh, yes, there are children!). There is action, adventure, suspense and romance, danger and humor... and that's all I'm going to say. Read it for yourselves!

The Artist

I have been a fan of the first book: The Secret of Dragonhome since it came out. Now having had the great pleasure of doing the cover art for this book, I eagerly read the manuscript and the finished product. What an amazing book and an amazing author. John Peel delivers for his fans and this book is full of humor, suspense, and action! We learn why Melayne and Brother are being tracked in the last book, and many loose ends are tied up from that book only to be left wanting more in the sequel. I love the different perspectives and the interaction between the dragons and humans. There is so much more about the dragons in this book and I think the other readers will greatly appreciate it! I look forward to the third book and the continuing saga of Melayne and her growing family.

A Great Story!

Heroes are as good as the threats of their enemies. Melayne is facing multiple threats, and so are her family and friends. One threat comes from her little brother Sarrow. But the biggest danger comes from someone Melayne thought was dead. It is an exciting and enjoyable read. I can't wait for the next book. John is a great writer.
